A few of us went for a short trip into JB to visit the JB outreach church.
Here’s just my personal experience...

The experience is definitely great!
One of the 'thing' which impresses me from the start, is that everything is modeled pretty closely to CHC, Singapore, from the way the greeters greet/welcome the friends, to the bulletins (the way they insert the offering envelope). Im sure William has something to say? Hahahaa.. Everyone is very warm and welcoming...



Another 'thing' which touches me is the 'hunger' from these people. erm, im not talking about them not having enough money to eat and becos of that, they are hungry.. hahaa...
I mean, these people are really hungry for God to be present and to touch them...

Their praise and worship might not be as good as the CHC band, but their hunger & their thirst for God really pulled down the Presence of God...
i was standing in the mist of the crowd, even though im a tad distracted at times by the music, but nevertheless, the presence of God was in the place, very tangible...

i believe it's becos the people are making effort to connect to God and really pulling down the presence.
Even in the mist of the preaching (I tell you, Pastor CK preaches ‘machiam’ like Pastor Kong!), everyone is engaging the Word, everyone is excited about what Pastor is sharing. At times, Pastor will challenge them; they will get excited, ‘Yes-and-Amen’-ing to whatever is declared by Pastor.

I feel really hard trying to pen down my experience. You have to be there to see, to feel, to experience it yourself.

~ brings back memories of Hollywood days, hahhaaa…

so we've got easter egg weihao last saturday and this weekend (which iz really approaching veryvery soon) it's the up and coming 11 services at both JW AND EXPO!


Let's come together in celebration of the miracle that God did for us. For loving us so, Jesus died on the cross to save us from sin. And I feel most importantly iz the fact that he overcame death, resurrected and now, He iz alive (: so hence i can always safely conclude that we are not rejoicing over someone's dying.. but we are rejoicing the power of our Almighty God. Amen :D

Is anybody here!?!?

Last Friday we had a function to start off the new year of 2008. To start off with, we played some exciting games. After about an hour and a half of games, we had a time of sharing. Some of us went up to share about the goals we have set last year 2007 and whether we have achieved what we have set and not to forget the goals we have set for 2008.

It was a great time of sharing. We would like to thank, Eileen, Ailin, Torrance and Sing yee for sharing with us what they have achieved and done, JIA YOU! I am sure for most of us 2007 was a great year, but 2008 will be a greater year.

By now most of you would have filled in you goal setting card for 2008. Lets all begin to achieve what we have set for 2008.

1 Tim 4:12 Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.

It was a “going to rain” Thursday morning and we met at 10:15am at city hall MRT. Upon my arrival, I saw very caring Natalia giving instructions to a middle-age lady. [no photo]

I noticed a trend from the photographs I took (did anyone else notice this?): Natalia always had the SAME pose when she is conscious that someone is taking a photograph of her.... lol...

Anyway, i need to go back to study --> will post the rest asap... got some nice photos. Pai sei, it’s my first time doing a blog properly --> a bit out-dated: didn’t know how to put words above picture :X So stay tuned to CHANNEL-NEWS-W115 :):):):)

On Saturday, Pastor Tan preached a very touching message. I thank God for I was able to hear the sermon being preached. The thing that touched me the most was the story of the star thrower. For those of you who haven’t heard of it before, here it is:

As the story goes...there was once a wise man who was walking along the shore. As he looked down the beach, he saw a human figure moving like a dancer. As he got closer, he saw that it was a young man and the young man wasn't dancing, but instead, was reaching down to the shore, picking up starfish and very gently throwing them into the ocean.
When asked why he was throwing Starfish into the ocean, the young man answered "The sun is up and the tide is going out and if I don't throw them in they'll die". The wise man replied "But don't you realize that there are miles and miles of beach with Starfish all along it, and that you can't possibly make a difference!"
The young man listened politely, then bent down, picked up another Starfish and threw it into the sea, past the breaking waves. "It made a difference for that one", he said.

I believe that we all have been gifted the ability to make a difference, it’s all up to us whether to do it or not. If we are aware of this gift, do you not realize you have the power to shape the future?

It’s all about one and you only need one to make a difference. That one person who sets up a company, that one company can make a difference in society. That one person who preached to us on Saturday has made the church realize how much one person can make a difference in society and in other people’s lives. If one person can do so much, how much more can 23000 people do to make a difference in society? If one person can do so much, how much more can everyone in the cell group contribute to make a difference? Let’s all begin to make a difference in our workplace, in our schools and in any other places we go to. Let’s all be star throwers for God!

And definitely not to forget...

W115 had their cell group outting at settlers. We played a fun board game called I'm the boss, it was a bit confusing because we had more players than required, but nevertheless it was fun. After about an hour or so on that board game, we chose something even more exciting, a board game called Saboteur. Before that we celebrated Nat's birthday, she came out of the toilet, walked half way down the stone tiles... the lights went out.... and she stood there... wandering whats going on? haha. David had to persuade her to enter. Natalia came in and we told her we were playing a special kind of Uno Stacko, in the dark? With light in the middle? haha. We all sang happy birthday and distributed the yummy chocolate cake from awfullychocolate. We hope you had a great day and we wish you all the best in your studies! After the celebration we continued with the board game. Yet again we had more players than required, so it was decided, the boys against the girls. In the end we came to a conclusion that the saboteurs had a higher chance of winning. We figured out it was time to go, I had great fun and I am sure those who are there did to!

On the eve of Mid-autumn Festival, the cell group met up at East Coast Park for a time of fellowship. Accompanied by plenty of food and the cooling sea breeze, all of us had fun playing games. The highlight of the night has to be the final game where both teams are given lanterns to light and string together. It was far from easy with the breeze blowing relentlessly. But in the end, team Zui Kuey emerged victorious, thrashing team Light with a score of 5 - 0! Round of applause for them and according to the team members, the oil within 'anointed' them for the victory. Yet victory didn't matter as all would agree that the time was well spent. Look forward to the next outing!

The captain’s ball championship league has officially concluded with a BANG on the 19th of August after a 3 weeks break since the first half was completed.

Kicking start to a new championship beginning back at the same venue in Simei. New teams came together to get to know each others and to recognize the team players. Throughout the matches, there were good support games being executed, good defense and attack strategies drawn, there were shrieking and cheering in court and outside as well, and not forgetting that memorable long throw from David to Enke and soon everyone else followed suit :D

Although halfway through the game it started to rain.. but thank God for sheltered courts - The mega umbrella that kept us all dry. =) the games carried on til we completed the league and drew it to a close with a male “all stars” match. At the end of it all, we had a mini birthday celebration for Judith whose birthday was the next day. Happy birthday Judith! And wrapping up the events.. would be non other than the prize-giving ceremony!!!!

The defending MVPs and top scorer no more, but in place are new MVPs and new top scorers! CONGRATULATIONS to…

The new top scorer male : Shawn
Each walking away with a medal specially made for them.

Last but not least, thank you to all you guys out there who came and joined us for the event and making this happen together with all of us. Salutes for taking the time off all your busy schedules!! We hope you enjoyed yourselves and we sure do hope to be able to see each and every one of you again soon (:
